Do antiperspirant deodorant cause some type of cancer?

I've been using them and someone told me that it's better to use regular deodorant instead of antiperspirant.

Do antiperspirant deodorant cause some type of cancer?
The only reason this idiocy is coming up is due to this news story.

Reply:Antiperspirant intentionally clogs the pores so you don't perspire. I think that's what caused me to get an infected lymph gland. I'd stick with just the deodorant.
Reply:no
Reply:No. If they caused cancer, there would be a warning label...
Reply:i thought that you only got cancer if you shaved your armpits frist and then put on the deodorant?
Reply:yes ive heard that they do

but whatever works for ya..
Reply:some studies have linked the aluminum in deodorants and anti-perspirants to alzheimer's and cancer. opt for aluminum free brands instead, such as some adidas available at most drug stores, or try a whole/organic foods store.
Reply:It really doesnt matter and I think they are the same thing just different names
Reply:People make up all that crap, just don't get scared about it. Pretty much everything can cause cancer these days when you think about it.
Reply:that's cos antiperspirants make you stop sweating. Sweating is a normal process and some people think it's bad to stop it. Deodorants just cover up the smell.

i don't think it causes cancer... but if you're concerned about it, then yeah you should just use deodorants, and then wash a lot there with antibacterial or antimicrobal soap so you can get rid of the bacteria under your arms that really causes the stink.
Reply:its been rumored that since anti-perspirant cuts down sweat all together it might coz cancer coz the sweat doesnt come out and it gets acuumulated under the skin. due to this tumors and lumps develop. how far this is true i have no idea
