my dog just ate some of my deodorant. idk how much and the label said to call the poison control center if swallowed. wat do i do!!! i need answers fast!

Call your emergency vet, not the poison control center for HUMAN BEINGS. The vet may advise you to give hydrogen peroxide to make the dog vomit.

Despite the label indicating that hydrogen peroxide is toxic, it is safe to give to dogs for this purpose. It is considered toxic since it induces vomiting and therefore does not stay in the body.





The appropriate dose of hydrogen peroxide is one teaspoon per 10 pounds of body weight. If you have an oral syringe, one teaspoon equals 5 cc or 5 ml. Once given, walk your dog around or gently shake the stomach area to mix the peroxide with the stomach contents. Vomiting should occur within 15 to 20 minutes. If no vomiting occurs, you can safely repeat the three percent hydrogen peroxide once. If it is still not effective, your dog may need to be seen by a veterinarian for stronger vomiting medication.





Once the hydrogen peroxide is given, it is important to watch your pet so that he does not re-ingest the substance. If there is concern about toxicity, collect and take a sample of the vomitus to your veterinarian.

get the blender and dump in some carrots , brocolli ,egg yolk , milk , grass ,then turn the blender on!


make him eat it FAST!


then take him outside and he will throw up!

Reply:try calling poison control........1-800-222-1222. They 'll be happy to help you :) Most everything will tell you to call poison control if ingested. My son dipped his finger in the vicks vapor rub and ate some and I called them up and they let me know to give him some juice to take the taste out of his mouth and he would be just fine....and he was :) They were really helpful :) good luck. i'm sure he'll be fine.

Yes this can make the dog sick but at least he got rid of his bad breath. he should be okay just a belly ache.


I have had dogs do the same thing..and they were fine just learn to keep things like deoderant away from dogs. You may want to give him some warm milk.
Reply:Your dog should be ok. If you want you could call vet to ease your mind. My cat did the same thing and hes still around. I don't know how they do it. Hav'nt you ever got deoderant in your mouth. It tastes awful. LOL

Reply:just a thought for you...a lot of doderants have glycol in them..which is the same thing thats in anti-freeze that kills them...dont waste any time calling
