Can someone be allergic to deodorant?

i dont know whats wrong with my skin. when i was younger i used to get hundreds of itchy bumps under my arms. my dad would rub some kind of cream on them and in a few days they would go away. but he has since died so i have no clue what kind of cream in was. a few yrs ago i would use different kinds of deodorant but my arm pits would get so itchy. i then started using dove for sensitive skin and that was working for months but now lately they have been getting itchy again. i dont know what to do. i was laid off so i dont have insurance any more and cant afford to go to the doctor. but i hate sittin at my desk then noticing ive been scratching at my arm pits. any ideas why this is happening.

This happens to my husband all the time. He switched to Mitchum for sensitive skin awhile ago and it hasn't happened since. It's worth a try. If it's itchy then try some hydrocortisone cream for the itch and it will dry it up.
Reply:Yes you can be. Read the back of your deodorant and find out for yourself. Do you research at a library, mabey you are just stressed out and you are getting siriesses or eggsama.

Reply:Of course. Try some hypo-allergenic unscented products, which should be available in most drug stores.

Change deodorants and if this does not work, well do no use any or put up with the itching I guess? There has to be a deodorant out there that is for your type of skin?


Do you think it could be from what you are washing your cloths in?

Reply:It is possible to be allergic to deodorant. I am allergic to a lot of different kinds. I use dove for sensitive skin, and dove cool. I seem to do well with them. You can get cream at the store for allergic reactions or take some bedadyl??? (not sure of the spelling) Good Luck
